Where does one find after hours internet facilities, travel or accommodation info in Knysna? Your best bet is the Thai Kitchen in Memorial Square. They are offering an early morning newspaper, cheap and nasty coffee and a stale biscuit for early risers. They then run right through the day into the evening, when you can enjoy some of the some of the tastiest food you are likely to find on the Garden Route. The portions are large, moderately priced and you are expected to take your own bottle.

The Thai Kitchen & Info Cafe fronts an initiative run by Find It & Friends which offers an “ask the locals” concierge service.

Dropped by the Mugg and Bean for a coffee yesterday – and succumbed to their enchiladas. I have a Mexican daughter-in-law so my standards are high… A lavish pile of succulent beef strips, chunks of avo and enough coriander and green chili for the requisite zing, all so neatly wrapped in a perfectly dry- fried tortilla that I could have been in a beach-front restaurant at Cancun. The garnish was as generous as the filling: dripping melted cheese, more avo and a dollop of sour cream – a BIG dollop of sour cream. Carmen would have given it the nod.
